Hey, my name is Mercede B

Beautifully Entangled grew out of a season when I needed to slow down. As I worked through burnout, grief, and the process of rebuilding community, creativity became less about making beautiful things and more about making space to notice what had been there all along.

In seasons of busyness, overwhelm, grief, and transition, I've been grounded by the quiet things—the sound of rain, birds singing in the distance, light moving through the trees, or simply watching the world outside my window.

Those moments remind me to slow down and pay attention. Spending time in nature has taught me that beauty already exists around us. What we see isn't something we created—it's something we've been given. Fully formed, intentional, and worth noticing.

That way of seeing began to shape everything I made. Photography taught me to preserve fleeting moments. Art journaling gave me space to process my thoughts. Collage reminded me that seemingly unrelated pieces can come together to tell a meaningful story. Together, these creative practices became less about the finished piece and more about learning to observe, reflect, experiment, and stay curious.

Today, Beautifully Entangled is a creative studio centered around observation, reflection, storytelling, and creating gentle spaces where others can slow down, reconnect, and create freely. Whether through photography, workshops, art journaling, or the stories shared here, my hope is that you'll leave feeling inspired to notice the beauty that has been around you all along.

A Little More About Me

  • B.F.A. in Visual & Performing Arts from Savannah State University
  • Elementary Visual Art Educator
  • Over 10 years exploring photography as a creative practice
  • Founder of Beautifully Entangled
  • Facilitator of creative workshops

I'm an artist, photographer, and elementary art educator. Through Beautifully Entangled, I create photographs, lead art journaling workshops, and design creative experiences that invite others to slow down, observe, reflect, and tell their stories through art. As an art educator, I've learned that creativity flourishes when people feel safe to explore without the pressure of getting it "right." That belief shapes everything I create—from workshops and creative invitations to the way I photograph the world around me. My hope is to offer gentle spaces where curiosity leads the way and creativity feels accessible to everyone.
